Summertime

Where oh where has summer gone? Seems this year has flown by. The year started with us desparately looking for a new house. After several bids being placed and us being continually out bid, we ended up in a fabulous new home in Rancho Murieta. We absolutely love it here! I cannot see us living anywhere else - of course we are the Herrera's and we do tend to move a lot! Nevertheless, after we finally moved in, summer was off to a super quick start. About a week after we got all moved in, our cousin Amy and her family moved in around the corner. Our other cousins Darren and Lizzy had moved into the neighborhood just before us.

Then we were off to Montana for about 2 weeks. It was great to see all of the family and our friends as well. The kids stayed in Montana for about 10 days with Grandma when we went home. Once the kids came home we had tons of family out to visit. The rest of the visitors left last week and then we were off to Dillons Beach for a quick camp trip.

This week Soccer starts and school starts on Monday. This weekend we have a Luau at the Lake, here in RM, and next weekend we are off to Tahoe...the activities around here are neverending. If I can ever figure out how to post pictures on here I will...but for now...summer, what summer?

Random Stuff

So it's been quite a while since I've posted anything, so I thought I would write some random stuff tonight! I am in bed with the kids and they are having fun helping me pick out new decor for my blog=)

Since the first of the year I have been trying to get more active in my daily life. This started with 20min workouts in the morning and has turned into 30 mins in the morning and 20 more at night with the kids and hubby. I have also joined a begining running group with cousin (Lizzy). It is to help us train for a 5k race at the end of May. I am so excited about it!! Hopefully it will help me lose those last 10lbs (down 10 from the first of the year already - yay!).

Baby is getting so big. She is getting ready to start walking and I am NOT encouraging it one bit! I want her to stay a baby forever! Dakota is now 7 and I can't believe that my sweet boy is that old already. He has become quite the Wii master=) As for Danielle, she is as funny as ever. Some of the things that come out of that girls mouth are just too much! And she is so animated -seriously she needs to be an actress!!

We are still looking for a house too. Seems as though we will never get one. We have offered on one, but there were 4 other offers, so we didn't get it. Maybe one of these days we will=)

I told you this was random stuff=)

Crazy Fam=)

So the transition to work hasn't been too bad...it's nice to have a ton of holidays - ah the pleasure of working for the state=) The nanny is great with the kids so that helps a ton! She has them clean up the house, make their beds, and do their homework all befor I get home from work. It's also nice to have Dus home with us on the holidays (since he works fo the state now too).

Delaney is growing way too fast. She got her first tooth finally and started crawing too! She gets into everything. She loves to watch her brother and sister and get their toys...especially the little ones! Dus is already talking about having a new little playmate for her...he's nuts...I'm not at all ready for that...yet...anyhow=)

Okay and have any of you ever watched 17 and counting? That family is amazing! They pay for eveything in cash and stay home with their family and have rental properties to pay for eveything...and yeah, seventeen kids and one more on the way...that is crazy! So Dakota and Danielle now want that many kids in our family...THEY ARE NUTSO! hee hee=) I want more, but not that many!!! Silly kiddos.

Back to the daily Grind!

Well, I started back to work today. YULK! I had a massive breakdown last night. I didn't think it would really be THAT hard. I mean, come on, I've done it twice before...whats one more time? Well, if it were only that easy. I guess the longer you stay home with your babies, the more attached you become. Of course we all love our children, but I don't know it's like I'm having total separation anxiety!!!

So I get up this morning and get ready, make lunch, have breakfast and get the kids up for school and then I'm off. The office was the same, the people were the same, my daily tasks were..well, pretty much the same...like I had never even left. I was looking at these people and all I could think about was my sweet baby at home, her sweet smell, her sweet baby breath in my ear, her sweet laugh...this will be the longest 15 months of my life!!!

Disneyland

Just got back from Disneyland with the fam! We had a blast. Started our vacation by visiting Ron (Dus' dad) in Pismo Beach. The weather was perfect for a fam day at the beach. Then we went on down to D-Land. Our hotel room couldn't have been more perfect...it looked out over Downtown Disney (it was the Dreams Tower of the Disneyland Hotel). The sliding glass double doors opened the length of one entire wall so it was fab to be able to hear all the music/bands that played out there every day.

Cousins (the Wilder fam) joined us and we spent two full days at Disneyland park and California Adventure park. It would out so great to have them there with us. We were able to switch off with the babies and riding the rides...and Dak is so much more adventurous with Gavin around!! Also, I took Dani to Libby Lu for the first time while we were there. SO MUCH FUN! She had her hair done with extensions, makup, dress up clothes, jewlery, nails polished...the works. She was so excited & looked so grown up=) My sweet girl! One of these days I will post pictures of it--I promise.
